Classic Wooden Dinghy Regatta @ Inverloch

February 14 @ 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

The 12th Inverloch Classic Dinghy Regatta is on 14th & 15th February 2026. Hosted by the SGYC and with the assistance of local service clubs, community groups and our sponsors, the event presents classic dinghies sailing on Anderson Inlet and displaying to the public on the beach and at the sailing club. Building on the success of past years, the purpose of the regatta is for owner/sailors to get these boats on the water and showcase the variety of timber dinghies that were once common along Australian beaches, but are now quite rare.

For 2026, we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Australian Sailfish design, an interesting little dinghy, part surfboard, part yacht and we’re expecting up to 20 of these boats for this regatta. The event kicks off on Friday with a pre-regatta social sail for the Sailfish. On Saturday, registration is from 9.30AM and the first of 2 races is after lunch around 1PM. Spectators are welcome at the club to view the boats as they set up. After Saturday sailing, the Wonthaggi Citizens Band will play at the club around 4.30PM – all are welcome and a licenced bar is available for cold drinks. 2 further races are planned for Sunday at 11.30AM and 1.30PM with presentations following at 3PM.

Full details for the event are on the website (see link below).
