Community Broadcast Licence

Our Community Broadcast Licence is issued by the ACMA and is a major & fundamental asset of South Coast FM.

It comes with obligations set out by the Broadcasting Services Act 1992, ACMA guidelines, the CBAA Codes of Practice, the South Coast FM Volunteer & Presenter Handbook, the Rules of Association & our Policy documents.

Members, Volunteers & Staff are expected to abide by these requirements.

Australian Communications & Media Authority (ACMA)

All community broadcasting services must comply with obligations set out in the Broadcasting Services Act 1992, including licence conditions. The purpose of some of these obligations is to ensure that services are operated for the community and by the community.

Community Broadcast Association of Australia (CBAA)

The Community Radio Broadcasting Codes of Practice (2025) set out the guiding principles and minimum standards all community broadcasters must follow. Developed with the sector and approved by the ACMA, the Codes reflect the unique values at the heart of community broadcasting – access, diversity, independence and local content.
