Get Fire Ready @ Meeniyan Stony Creek CFA

The Meeniyan Stony Creek Fire Brigade Station open its doors.

This is a Get Fire Ready: Community safety event.

The CFA is predicting increased risk this fire season and so we are encouraging all members of the community to start making preparations now.

Whether you live on a farm or in a town, the actions you take can make the difference between the loss of property or even the loss of life and survival.

This spring Victoria’s fire risk is increased. Brigades across Victoria hosting Get Fire Ready events throughout October.

Learn about your local fire risk and get practical tips to protect your family and property.

Preparation can be simple – cleaning gutters, mowing, trimming branches, knowing where to go if a fire breaks out.

Learning to set up a Watch Zone in the VicEmergency app can make a real difference.

To help you with this process Meeniyan Stony Creek Fire Brigade is holding two events on Saturday 4th October.

Come and enjoy a free sausage outside Brown and Wigg or why not visit our fire station?

Both will run from 9 to 12 and members will be present to discuss wildfire safety preparations, the development of survival plans, and ideas about how to assemble emergency kits.

We look forward to meeting members of the community there.
