Travelling safely to & from the MotoGP
When: Friday 17 to Sunday 19 October 2025
The Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix returns to Phillip Island from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 October, bringing thousands of racing fans to the region.
If you’re travelling to the event, keep an eye out for changed traffic conditions, plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
The blue line road marking system will be active on Sunday 19 October, adding an extra lane to help racegoers leave Phillip Island smoothly and safety.
Phillip Island’s wildlife is especially active at dawn and dusk, so please take extra care on the roads.
The Australian MotoGP coincides with Motorcyclist Awareness Month this October so it’s the perfect time for us all to remember that road safety is everyone’s responsibility.
Motorcyclists are more vulnerable to injury than other road users so saving riders’ lives and preventing injuries remains a critical road safety challenge.
Drivers should remember to check twice for bikes, especially before turning. And if you ride a motorcycle, remember to wear protective clothing, understand the road rules and stay alert while on the road.
It doesn’t matter if you’re on two or four wheels, we can all do our part to keep everyone safe on the roads.
