July 28

When: Sunday 28th July 2024 (last Sunday in July each year)

Where: Find a tree planting site near you treeday.planetark.org/find-a-site

Established in 1996, Planet Ark’s National Tree Day has grown into Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature care event. The program is a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to their community.

Each year, around 300,000 people volunteer their time to engage in environmental activities that educate Australians about the world around them.

While every day can be Tree Day, we dedicate celebration of Schools Tree Day and National Tree Day to the last Friday and last Sunday in July.

Landcare Pedal & Plant @ Kardella

South Gippsland Landcare Network, Arawata Landcare Group and South Gippsland Shire Council invite you to our annual Pedal & Plant community planting day. Cycle or walk the rail trail from Ruby or Korumburra and stop at Kardella siding where we will plant 2000 seedlings to celebrate National Tree Day! Pedal & Plant is an annual event that promotes mental health by encouraging people to get outdoors and enjoy the Great Southern Rail Trail. We encourage people to ride to the event with their family and friends, plant some trees adjacent to the rail trail and enjoy a BBQ and refreshments before riding back home.

When: Sunday 28th July. 10am to 1pm
